János Moravecz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Magno Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armas Vapamaa hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Abel de Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. János Moravecz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel de Godoi in the 45th minute of play. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by SÉ SE's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luisinho Ceresso was slow to take the kick. During this time Olivedos's players had a chance to rest. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wen Bing Liang to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Attila Pálffy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luisinho Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. The supporters of SÉ SE booed when Olivedos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tony Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armas Vapamaa might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abelardo Maranhense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Armas Vapamaa ran back to his position shaking his head.
