The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Olo Uriarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Menendo Tella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Damaso Hurko dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 7th minute Augusto Valda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olo Uriarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olo Uriarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerold Grijalba in the 13th minute of the match. Olo Uriarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerold Grijalba in the 15th minute of play. Olo Uriarte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerold Grijalba, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Caaguazu's Olo Uriarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Menendo Tella in the 25th minute of play. Olo Uriarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerold Grijalba in the 37th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Jerold Grijalba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olo Uriarte was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerold Grijalba in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olo Uriarte saved Caaguazu from getting behind. Gilesindo Tarapiella's late challenge caught a Austral FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilesindo Tarapiella helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Austral FC booed when Caaguazu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilesindo Tarapiella didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilesindo Tarapiella stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the match, Caaguazu's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Valda came free, but Olo Uriarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Austral FC's attentive Ricardo Temporal managed to snatch the ball when Leon Altares made a throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game. A collision led to Austral FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Augusto Valda hit a great ball. Damaso Hurko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilesindo Tarapiella in the 61st minute of play. Olo Uriarte made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Jerold Grijalba sent off a good shot on target. Austral FC were awarded a corner in the 66th minute after Caaguazu's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Augusto Valda took the corner. The crowd rose to their feet as Austral FC's Augusto Valda slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Olo Uriarte. That made the score 2-1 after 71 minutes of play. Caaguazu's Olo Uriarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Caaguazu from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute, Jerold Grijalba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd minute of the match Austral FC got a corner. Caaguazu's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Augusto Valda ran over to the corner to take the kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Laureano Pinillos advanced and headed the ball into goal, 2-2 in the 83rd minute. After a rather tough play, Caaguazu's Bartolome Moracia got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 91st match minute, Austral FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerold Grijalba to maneuver through the defense. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
