With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Serdar Gulson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Serdar Gulson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Serdar Gulson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serdar Gulson in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Serdar Gulson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 2-0 became the score in the 24th minute when Serdar Gulson elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 34thth minute of the game Serdar Gulson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 39 minutes into the game, FC Lëtzebuerg's Abraham Pflaumenbaum nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 48th minute, one of Venezuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Venezuela. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 55th minute. Serdar Gulson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serdar Gulson went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serdar Gulson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Loïc Payen in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Serdar Gulson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the FC Lëtzebuerg players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
