Pedro Manzanares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudio Caniggia went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abram Sarmiento in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernst de Hoop prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Lemel SV's Patrick Hoffmann got a free kick in the 15th minute. Lemel SV's Ernst de Hoop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Mastache in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernst de Hoop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manfred Konradsson. In the 29th minute of the match, Ettore Petroni tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedro Manzanares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Manfred Konradsson made the kick off in the second half. Ernst de Hoop showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute Dennis Bergkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ignacio Mastache replaced Abram Sarmiento. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Bergkamp in the 69th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 72nd minute of play forced Lemel SV's goalkeeper Ernst de Hoop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abram Secada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Ernst de Hoop made a huge save. Abram Secada received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ernst de Hoop came out and tried to block the shot, but Abram Secada slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 78th minute. The audience was convinced that Ignacio Mastache's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernst de Hoop was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Caniggia in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 86th minute Ettore Petroni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st minute, Abram Secada left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colombia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Abram Secada charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abram Secada the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lemel SV made a substitution. Cees Ebbinge replaced Claudio Caniggia. In the 94th minute, Abram Secada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
