Eric Soned didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Eric Soned took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nickolai Nickerson in the 22nd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nickolai Nickerson in the 23rd minute of the match. Nickolai Nickerson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 27th minute Nickolai Nickerson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric Soned made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 28th minute of play. Eric Soned showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 30th minute of the match. When Peru's Julian Murillo in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 37th minute of play forced Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goalkeeper Eric Soned to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nickolai Nickerson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jim Njurenius in the 42nd minute. Luz Tejedor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nickolai Nickerson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alonso Berganza made in the 53rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Julian Murillo immediately put the ball in play. Eric Soned took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 57 played minutes Étoile Sportive Du Sahel got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Rivarola. 61 minutes into the match, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goalkeeper Eric Soned had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. In the 65th minute of the match, Milagros Fraga got a very nice opportunity to score, but Eric Soned was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Carlo Ancelotti was substituted for Nickolai Nickerson. Peru were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Luz Tejedor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eric Soned quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Luz Tejedor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eric Soned read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. When Carlo Ancelotti came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Étoile Sportive Du Sahel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlo Ancelotti couldn't finish the play. Eric Soned made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 82nd minute. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Fabrício Rivarola managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alonso Berganza in the 89 minute of the game. In the 93rd minute Rafael Gallo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Soned saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eric Soned showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mina in the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Étoile Sportive Du Sahel.
