The goal made the score 3-2. 88 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Harald Ennegren came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, Vejbystrand could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
