Through an outstanding action, after 4 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 5th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristinel Tomulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Green Zombies's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Cristinel Tomulescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 13 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristinel Tomulescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play forced Green Zombies's goalkeeper Cristinel Tomulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Green Zombies defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristinel Tomulescu. The Green Zombies fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristinel Tomulescu should have stopped the shot. Green Zombies's Cristinel Tomulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play. In the 38th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristinel Tomulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Green Zombies's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Daniel Zorita managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 41st minute Zsigmond Tímár shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zsigmond Tímár in the 57th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Green Zombies's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristinel Tomulescu came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute Zsigmond Tímár shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristinel Tomulescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute of the match Green Zombies got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edoardo Schiacciacasse ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cristinel Tomulescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Cristinel Tomulescu made a huge save. Cristinel Tomulescu came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Walter Carter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Walter Carter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Walter Carter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. Green Zombies's Cristinel Tomulescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Green Zombies from getting a goal against them. In the 96th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense.
