Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Candido Hendrickx's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Candido Hendrickx took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Pilar FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Godofredo Lano in the 14th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Candido Hendrickx in the 16th minute of play. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Pilar FC's Candido Hendrickx. But to his dismay, Candido Hendrickx quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The audience was convinced that Felix Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sixto Luke was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Juan Sebastián Puig made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Pilar FC's Sixto Luke managed to reach the ball for a save. Primitivo Andino got a throw-in 30 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cristian Sancho. Sixto Luke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 35th minute of the match. Candido Hendrickx recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 45 minutes into the match, Pilar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Sixto Luke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Candido Hendrickx's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Candido Hendrickx took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After having played for 63 minutes, Candido Hendrickx managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pilar FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Candido Hendrickx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Hendrickx came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Pilar FC's Candido Hendrickx in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Pilar FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godofredo Lano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Illan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicanor Illan in the 90th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Guus Koole had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guus Koole was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
