Mexico were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Xurupita FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Xurupita FC's Jarbas Pimenta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kauan Rosa in the 36th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when Xurupita FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Đỗ Dung was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. When Mexico's Facundo Cadaval in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Xurupita FC's goalie prevented a goal. 99 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Jarbas Pimenta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Despite being the better team, Mexico failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
