The Penang Island fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonas Salk should have stopped the shot. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Djati Simamora in the 17th minute of play. After having played for 19 minutes, Bulek Idris managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Penang Island's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bulek Idris was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso got control of the ball when Bulek Idris tried to sneak it across the goal line. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. In the 26th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Carballal to maneuver through the defense. Bulek Idris scored 1-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jaime Cazalla took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonas Salk. Penang Island's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bulek Idris struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Penang Island. 42 minutes into the game, Francisco Seco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Jonas Salk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The wind increased when Francisco Seco made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Djati Simamora cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Joaquin Gayoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 54th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Sainz to maneuver through the defense. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Djati Simamora, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 64 minutes into the game, Penang Island's Bulek Idris nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquin Gayoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Penang Island's Jonas Salk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Penang Island from getting a goal against them. Jonas Salk was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Maximiliano Escribano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Maximiliano Escribano really showed his touch with that goal: 4-3. In the 76th minute, Bulek Idris left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Penang Island fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-3. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Bulek Idris kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Francisco Seco succeeded in the game's 86th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 6-4. Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 92 played minutes Penang Island got a freekick which was hit by Djati Simamora. When the referee blew the final whistle, Penang Island could leave the field as winners, despite Uruguay having more of the ball for most of the match.
