An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 9th minute of play forced JIANGSU FC's goalkeeper 郭强林 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Duncan Beckett's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 14thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 郭强林 came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. JIANGSU FC's 郭强林 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. The goalkeeper, Julio Vera, was totally fooled by JIANGSU FC's 狄霆骏, who 24 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 郭强林 having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 29th minute of play forced JIANGSU FC's goalkeeper 郭强林 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Duncan Beckett tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the JIANGSU FC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 郭强林. The JIANGSU FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 郭强林 should have stopped the shot. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after JIANGSU FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Felix Montenegro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this 郭强林 quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 郭强林 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 39th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. 郭强林 was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. 郭强林 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Duncan Beckett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 郭强林 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 53rd minute of the match. 郭强林 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 55th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by 鲁兴威 during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 57 played minutes JIANGSU FC got a freekick which was hit by 鲁兴威. In the 59th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 郭强林 made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 65th minute. JIANGSU FC's 郭强林 proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save JIANGSU FC from getting a goal against them. 67 minutes into the game, 马杰岩 was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. JIANGSU FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. 马杰岩 hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. The score was now 1-6. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. JIANGSU FC's 郭强林 proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save JIANGSU FC from getting a goal against them. 郭强林 came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-7. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than JIANGSU FC throughout the match.
