Remigio Jordy received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Remigio Jordy slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 12th minute. In the 15th minute, Remigio Jordy reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 2-0. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Remigio Jordy took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. In the 22nd minute, Hugo Ferrant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remigio Jordy, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Costa Rica's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Remigio Jordy 26 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-0. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Remigio Jordy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. CHAU MZ. Chupenla kirchos's Remigio Jordy pulled a muscle in his leg after 32 minutes and couldn't finish the game. CHAU MZ. Chupenla kirchos made a substitution. Tio Tio replaced Remigio Jordy. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Tio Tio came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 7-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. Israel Laurin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tio Tio, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. If Tio Tio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. CHAU MZ. Chupenla kirchos made a substitution. Conrado Valiente replaced Elvio Benitez. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by CHAU MZ. Chupenla kirchos's Tio Tio. But to his dismay, Tio Tio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. In the 70th minute, Tio Tio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tio Tio in the 76th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. CHAU MZ.
