Merlin Dolan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rômulo Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Oberst-Wilhelm Jääskeläinen sped through Zamalek FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Merlin Dolan. Cecilio Uxio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malcolm Neal in the 33rd minute of the match. The PLUMIN fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when PLUMIN's Rômulo Godoi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Rômulo Godoi put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Merlin Dolan. After a defensive mix-up in Zamalek FC's zone, Rômulo Godoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Merlin Dolan came out of the goal and Rômulo Godoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the match, Dino Baiano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Merlin Dolan. Zamalek FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dino Baiano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. After the first half PLUMIN were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Malcolm Neal made the kick off in the second half. Merlin Dolan didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 52nd minute, which inside left pole to 0-6. Rômulo Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lucjan Lamczyk charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Merlin Dolan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavio Deunoro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over PLUMIN could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Zamalek FC throughout the match.
