Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Alianza FC's Orkatz Remolino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 6th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 12th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orkatz Remolino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marin Ciprian in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of play forced Alianza FC's goalkeeper Orkatz Remolino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Marin Ciprian recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Marin Ciprian showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 31st minute, Felix Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 34th minute of the game Primitivo Andino made a throw-in which Felix Montenegro played forward. Marin Ciprian received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Marin Ciprian slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 36th minute. Marin Ciprian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marin Ciprian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 45th minute of play forced Alianza FC's goalkeeper Orkatz Remolino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Ciprian came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alianza FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anselmo Greña in the 49th minute. Anselmo Greña made a great header on Alianza FC's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marin Ciprian was the one to do the kick off. Marin Ciprian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Orkatz Remolino made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Alianza FC made a substitution. César Domingues replaced Marin Ciprian. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 63rd minute. In the 66th minute, Sorin Hreapcă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alianza FC's Leopoldo Aimar was substituted for Yiyo Cianca. In the 70th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Alianza FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Alianza FC's Orkatz Remolino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Alianza FC from getting a goal against them. After 77 played minutes Alianza FC got a freekick which was hit by Benigno Goya. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82ndth minute of the game César Domingues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Alianza FC's César Domingues sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, César Domingues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that César Domingues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by César Domingues in the 96th minute of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Alianza FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
