The supporters of Ecuador booed when Lobo Guará was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Helge Vallander didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lobo Guará's Daniel Anaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of play. Ezequiel Pereira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Ezequiel Pereira scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-0. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lobo Guará's goalkeeper Daniel Anaya, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Lobo Guará defense, Agustín Saelices kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel Anaya. The Lobo Guará fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Anaya should have stopped the shot. In the 21st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Anaya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Lobo Guará's Ezequiel Pereira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 2-1 after 22 minutes of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Anaya having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ezequiel Pereira in the 28th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Lobo Guará's Ezequiel Pereira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 36thth minute of the game Felix Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lobo Guará's Daniel Anaya was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daniel Anaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Ezequiel Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lobo Guará's supporters rose to their feet, but Ezequiel Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ezequiel Pereira in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Pereira in the 61st minute of play. After taking down the ball on Lobo Guará's corner Sancar Gazel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. The Lobo Guará fans' excitement grew in the 80th match minute when Lobo Guará's Sancar Gazel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ciro de Moraes took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. In the 93rd minute, Ciro de Moraes made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1.
