The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luka Harris in the 10th minute of play forced Futuros FC's goalkeeper João Carlos Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Canada booed when Futuros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo Ferdinand didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute of the match Canada got a corner. Futuros FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Koby Wright ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 19th minute of the match Koby Wright shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Carlos Andrade showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Canada's Jax Williamson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Canada from getting a goal against them. 25 minutes into the match, Futuros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rohan Watson came free, but João Carlos Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Futuros FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Koby Wright was slow to take the kick. During this time Canada's players had a chance to rest.
