The supporters of Ecuador booed when Esporte Clube do Porto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessio Muciaccia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th match minute, Esporte Clube do Porto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessio Muciaccia to maneuver through the defense. 10 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube do Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Kale Kaledin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 12th minute of play forced Esporte Clube do Porto's goalkeeper Kale Kaledin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube do Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Kale Kaledin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kale Kaledin having to make a save. Okanay Elmas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Paulista in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 31st minute of play forced Esporte Clube do Porto's goalkeeper Kale Kaledin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 played minutes, Esporte Clube do Porto's Jailson de Amorim shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Esporte Clube do Porto reached it. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 39th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Kale Kaledin. Esporte Clube do Porto's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ailton Lira in the 44th minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Asep Darusman made a kick off. Asep Darusman scored 1-1 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kale Kaledin came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Esporte Clube do Porto's Kale Kaledin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 60th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Paulista in the 62nd minute of play. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Felix Montes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kale Kaledin quite easily take care of the ball. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Kale Kaledin made a huge save. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Paulista kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Asep Darusman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot.
