Zé Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play forced Saiko FC's goalkeeper Zé Sabóia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 30th minute. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Sabóia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Zé Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saiko FC's Zé Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 46th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Sabóia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 57 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseu Fonseca came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Walmir Garcia was slow to take the kick. During this time Saiko FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Saiko FC's Walmir Garcia to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 59 played minutes Saiko FC got a freekick which was hit by Dadá Vander. Sixto Ondino kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Zé Sabóia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 66th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Saiko FC's goalkeeper Zé Sabóia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Felix Montenegro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Zé Sabóia firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 76 played minutes, Saiko FC's Jairo Trancoso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line.
