ΠΑΟΚ FC's Ronaldão Mendonça was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Modesto Roldanillo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Silva in the 23rd minute of play forced Mystyc FC's goalkeeper Modesto Roldanillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in ΠΑΟΚ FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! The audience thought a goal was coming when Elias Oihenarte got free with Ingvar Nykvist in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 43 minutes, Ernesto Tauro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ΠΑΟΚ FC and the Mystyc FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mystyc FC booed when ΠΑΟΚ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Tauro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elias Oihenarte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Ingvar Nykvist made a huge save. In the 47th match minute, ΠΑΟΚ FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Tauro to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elias Oihenarte to make the kick off. Björn Kamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Modesto Roldanillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
