When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Cristian Sancho sped through Oldham Athletic's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Guo Han Di. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Guo Han Di, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Yao Ying in the 56th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhao Yao Ying, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guo Han Di was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Guo Han Di didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braulio Hodei, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Braulio Hodei scored 2-2 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oldham Athletic made a substitution. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zhao Yao Ying in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guo Han Di having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Guo Han Di. The goal made the score 3-3. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
