ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Petrică Măcriș in the 5th minute. It was a well-played corner which Elpidio Francis managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 13 minutes, Everardo Cordarell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA and the La Bichineta players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dariusz Motyl took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Branislav Velchevski. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bonifacio Suarez's late challenge caught a La Bichineta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bonifacio Suarez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of La Bichineta booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Suarez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petrică Măcriș fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 25th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. La Bichineta's Silvestre Peli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Francis in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th play minute Elpidio Francis came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Silvestre Peli. 1-0. After 31 minutes, Elpidio Francis made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. La Bichineta's Silvestre Peli tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Silvestre Peli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Petrică Măcriș in the 37th minute. After 38 minutes La Bichineta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Petrică Măcriș who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Petrică Măcriș almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but La Bichineta's Silvestre Peli did a great save. Mustafa Ali Cansoy made in the 41st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by La Bichineta's Carolo Abancens. Silvestre Peli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Francis in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

56 minutes into the game, Hauk Hareide cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Branislav Velchevski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If André Monclús had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Everardo Cordarell kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. A collision led to ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Everardo Cordarell hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute Petrică Măcriș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvestre Peli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Branislav Velchevski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hauk Hareide in the 82nd minute. Silvestre Peli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petrică Măcriș in the 83rd minute of the match. Silvestre Peli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Monclús, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Hauk Hareide could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Branislav Velchevski made a huge save. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of La Bichineta for a fine match.
