Newcastle United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alvaro Cordarrol was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damião Granja in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th match minute, Newcastle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Pacholewski to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alvaro Cordarrol in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mikolaj Jerzyk saved Newcastle United from getting behind. In the 36th minute, Orlando Teofilio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mikolaj Jerzyk was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Mikolaj Jerzyk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Damião Granja's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. In the 40th minute Alvaro Cordarrol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikolaj Jerzyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaplan's Emilian Martinez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Kaplan from getting a goal against them.

After 56 minutes, Pankracy Malicki mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newcastle United and the Kaplan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kaplan's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thomas Vollmar in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emilian Martinez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United's Pankracy Malicki got a free kick in the 75th minute.
