When Club Atlético Atlanta's Mugur Chiriac in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Newcastle United's goalie prevented a goal. Mikolaj Jerzyk was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alfonso Goicoechea showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 6 minute of play. Newcastle United's Mikolaj Jerzyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Chiriac in the 11th minute of play. Mugur Chiriac recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 15 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goalkeeper Mikolaj Jerzyk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfonso Goicoechea. Newcastle United's Mikolaj Jerzyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Goicoechea in the 18th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mugur Chiriac in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mikolaj Jerzyk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 22nd match minute, Newcastle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadeusz Pstrongowski to maneuver through the defense. Thomas Vollmar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Vollmar in the 28th minute of play. After 32 minutes Club Atlético Atlanta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zé Paulo Zonta who took care of the corner kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mugur Chiriac in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mikolaj Jerzyk saved Newcastle United from getting behind. Club Atlético Atlanta were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Newcastle United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ciro Ferdinand took the corner. 41 minutes into the game, Alfonso Goicoechea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Mikolaj Jerzyk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 44 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Vollmar came free, but Pankracy Glogowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfonso Goicoechea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mikolaj Jerzyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mugur Chiriac in the 51st minute of play. The supporters of Newcastle United booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo Caradaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute Mugur Chiriac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikolaj Jerzyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Pacholewskis short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Pankracy Glogowski to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Remigio Erramu's late challenge caught a Newcastle United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Remigio Erramu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st match minute, Club Atlético Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remigio Erramu to maneuver through the defense. Newcastle United made a substitution. Benedykt Gdaniec replaced Tadeusz Pstrongowski. After 63 played minutes Club Atlético Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Remigio Erramu. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marian Erland got free with Pankracy Glogowski in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Paolo Caradaro got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Pankracy Malicki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mikolaj Jerzyk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mugur Chiriac's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. In the 82nd minute, Zé Paulo Zonta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Ferdinand in the 82nd minute of the match. Thomas Vollmar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Pankracy Glogowski made a huge save. Thomas Vollmar struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Pankracy Glogowski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newcastle United. After 88 played minutes Newcastle United got a freekick which was hit by Marian Erland. Mikolaj Jerzyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Goicoechea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st match minute, Newcastle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Obuchowicz to maneuver through the defense. Mikolaj Jerzyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Goicoechea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Club Atlético Atlanta had won after a very even match.
