With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Vollmar in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mauricio Naldo saved San Lorenzo fc from getting behind. After 9 played minutes San Lorenzo fc got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Feo. Pankracy Malicki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adam Pacholewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Mauricio Naldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulino Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. When Thomas Vollmar came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Newcastle United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Vollmar couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adam Pacholewski in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 38th match minute, San Lorenzo fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Veremundo to maneuver through the defense. Mauricio Naldo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adam Pacholewski's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Marian Erland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newcastle United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marian Erland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. San Lorenzo fc's Mauricio Naldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pankracy Malicki in the 44th minute of play. Thomas Vollmar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Mauricio Naldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The Newcastle United fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when Newcastle United's Thomas Vollmar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo fc's Rodrigo Feo got a free kick in the 93rd minute. A hard shot 94 in the game by Thomas Vollmar from a close distance when the talented Mauricio Naldo managed to make a qualified save. San Lorenzo fc's players were relieved. The San Lorenzo fc fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Newcastle United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
