In the 8th minute, Leonardo Barros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Green Squad FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Octavian Basten in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilvan Sanches saved Green Squad FC from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Leonardo Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Green Squad FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonardo Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. August Hoffmanns breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Octavian Basten in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilvan Sanches prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Rot-Weiss-Essen's Octavian Basten looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Octavian Basten in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilvan Sanches prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonçalo Maia in the 27th minute of play. Gilvan Sanches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavian Basten in the 28th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Octavian Basten put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Gilvan Sanches. Gilvan Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mesut Özil, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Green Squad FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Maximilian Henning was slow to take the kick. During this time Rot-Weiss-Essen's players had a chance to rest. Octavian Basten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilvan Sanches read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Ulisses Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Green Squad FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulisses Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. August Hoffmanns breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mesut Özil's late challenge caught a Green Squad FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mesut Özil helped the player get up and apologised. Mesut Özil hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonardo Barros to make the kick off. August Hoffmanns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeu Cosme, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. August Hoffmanns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Barros in the 54th minute of the match. Green Squad FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tadeu Cosme in the 55th minute. Gilvan Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavian Basten in the 56th minute of play. Green Squad FC's Gilvan Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavian Basten in the 58th minute of play. Anestis Kotsopoulos kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonçalo Maia in the 62nd minute of play. Leonardo Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulisses Antunes in the 66th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute, Cláudio Furlan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 67 played minutes, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Maximilian Henning shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gilvan Sanches came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rot-Weiss-Essen reached it. August Hoffmanns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Pernambucano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tadeu Cosme made a great header on Green Squad FC's corner, it was just that Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns managed to reach the ball for a save. If Gonçalo Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Gilvan Sanches managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Rot-Weiss-Essen's Octavian Basten fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rot-Weiss-Essen's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Maximilian Henning in the 82nd minute. Maximilian Henning made a great header on Rot-Weiss-Essen's corner, it was just that Green Squad FC's Gilvan Sanches managed to reach the ball for a save. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tadeu Cosme in the 88th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeu Cosme came free, but August Hoffmanns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilvan Sanches made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Hugo Haupt sent off a good shot on target. Although Green Squad FC had been in control for most of the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen still came away with the win.
