In the 9th minute Ong Bongo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Bemowo getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Jan Lewandowski hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Ong Bongo sped through Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of August Hoffmanns. August Hoffmanns stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ong Bongo's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, FC Bemowo's goal looked a bit too open when Mesut Özil came free, but Dariusz Bielejewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25thth minute of the game Ong Bongo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mesut Özil in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dariusz Bielejewski saved FC Bemowo from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mesut Özil in the 37th minute of play forced FC Bemowo's goalkeeper Dariusz Bielejewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Alcides Niedermayer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ong Bongo in the 40th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ong Bongo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Octavian Basten got free with Dariusz Bielejewski in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Rot-Weiss-Essen players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Bemowo were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Octavian Basten to strike the kick off in the second half. August Hoffmanns made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Ong Bongo sent off a good shot on target. In the 56th minute, Marco-Antonio van Basten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dariusz Bielejewski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Haupt in the 59th minute of the match. FC Bemowo made a substitution. Nicasio Cugat replaced Ong Bongo. In the 63rd minute of the match FC Bemowo got a corner. Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jan Lewandowski ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led FC Bemowo's Jan Lewandowski to fire away a dangerous shot which August Hoffmanns despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Marco-Antonio van Basten made in the 67th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by FC Bemowo's Szczepan Fiszer. Dariusz Bielejewski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Haupt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 72 minutes into the match, FC Bemowo's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Haupt came free, but Dariusz Bielejewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. August Hoffmanns had great luck who in the 75thth minute grab hold of the ball when Nicasio Cugat from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicasio Cugat in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck August Hoffmanns prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 78 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when FC Bemowo's Nicasio Cugat fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. FC Bemowo's Szczepan Fiszer managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marco-Antonio van Basten in the 83 minute of the game. Nicasio Cugat's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but August Hoffmanns read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicasio Cugat in the 86th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicasio Cugat in the 89th minute of play. August Hoffmanns stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicasio Cugat's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute, Hao Li hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 94 minutes, Maximilian Henning managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rot-Weiss-Essen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximilian Henning was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Bemowo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
