Anestis Kotsopoulos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilvan Sanches having to make a save. In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Green Squad FC's goalkeeper Gilvan Sanches, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Conrado Pernambucano during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Green Squad FC's Gilvan Sanches proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Green Squad FC from getting a goal against them. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeu Cosme in the 8th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anestis Kotsopoulos got free with Gilvan Sanches in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gilvan Sanches made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Anestis Kotsopoulos sent off a good shot on target. Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gilvan Sanches, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tadeu Cosme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 17th minute, Tadeu Cosme left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Green Squad FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Gilvan Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 21 in the game by Anestis Kotsopoulos from a close distance when the talented Gilvan Sanches managed to make a qualified save. Green Squad FC's players were relieved. Jessie Pinkman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonçalo Maia in the 27th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Green Squad FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anestis Kotsopoulos came free, but Gilvan Sanches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. August Hoffmanns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute of the match Green Squad FC got a corner. Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Conrado Pernambucano ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 37 minutes Green Squad FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Anestis Kotsopoulos who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Green Squad FC's goalie and right to Felix Balzer. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Green Squad FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 40th minute Jessie Pinkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. August Hoffmanns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeu Cosme, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute Green Squad FC were awarded a corner. Conrado Pernambucano went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Green Squad FC's Conrado Pernambucano to fire away a dangerous shot which August Hoffmanns despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 46thth minute of the game Anestis Kotsopoulos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Green Squad FC's Gilvan Sanches was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. August Hoffmanns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jessie Pinkman in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Green Squad FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anestis Kotsopoulos made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Anestis Kotsopoulos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilvan Sanches was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Gilvan Sanches stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anestis Kotsopoulos's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the match, Anestis Kotsopoulos notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Green Squad FC's Gilvan Sanches. Gilvan Sanches was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 58th minute Anestis Kotsopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilvan Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 59 minutes of play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Anestis Kotsopoulos made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilvan Sanches was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Green Squad FC's goalkeeper Gilvan Sanches, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 65th minute Gonçalo Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute of the match Green Squad FC got a corner. Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. With a left leg August Hoffmanns saved Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting behind. Jessie Pinkman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jessie Pinkman. In the 73rd minute, Green Squad FC's Jessie Pinkman ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind August Hoffmanns. August Hoffmanns yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. 75 minutes into the match, Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucas Silva. Gilvan Sanches stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anestis Kotsopoulos's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Ulisses Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Hoffmanns having to interfere. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when Rot-Weiss-Essen's Anestis Kotsopoulos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Green Squad FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
