Scarafia Ghost made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Dráuzio Pontes sent off a good shot on target. After the first half Go Ahead Eagles were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dráuzio Pontes to make the kick off. Iustin Bâru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th minute, Iustin Bâru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 82 minutes Falconara Albanese's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Fernando Amorebieta hit a great ball. The supporters of Go Ahead Eagles booed when Falconara Albanese was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Olof Kaxe didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erling Lewandowski got free with Arne Grabner in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Go Ahead Eagles's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
