Deng Zheng Qian blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tony Vandenberge having to make a save. In the 9th minute Fre Schoovaerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sakarias Berggren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 11 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for RWDM! Sakarias Berggren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lukas Stuijckens, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute RWDM were awarded a corner. Fernand De Beer went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Fernand De Beer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Burriss's Sakarias Berggren did a great save. With a little luck, RWDM's Tony Vandenberge got control of the ball when Dobrin Cormoran tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st minute, Lennert Van der Vloedt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RWDM fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. RWDM's Tony Vandenberge proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save RWDM from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennert Van der Vloedt in the 35th minute of play forced Burriss's goalkeeper Sakarias Berggren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute Fernand De Beer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sakarias Berggren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Burriss was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Merle Pendleton to maneuver through the defense. Victor Figaro made in the 47th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Lukas Stuijckens.

Tony Vandenberge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dobrin Cormoran in the 78th minute of the match. After having played for 79 minutes, Lukas Stuijckens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RWDM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lukas Stuijckens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sakarias Berggren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennert Van der Vloedt in the 81st minute of the match. A hard shot 82 in the game by Sylvan Van der Willeghem from a close distance when the talented Sakarias Berggren managed to make a qualified save. Burriss's players were relieved. Sylvan Van der Willeghem struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Sakarias Berggren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RWDM. RWDM's Tony Vandenberge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dobrin Cormoran in the 90th minute of play. Jaakkima Kinisjärvi's late challenge caught a Burriss's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jaakkima Kinisjärvi helped the player get up and apologised. Jaakkima Kinisjärvi kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Dobrin Cormoran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 94 minutes into the match, RWDM's goal looked a bit too open when Dobrin Cormoran came free, but Tony Vandenberge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, Burriss could leave the field as winners, despite RWDM having more of the ball for most of the match.
