In the 21st match minute, Sociedad Anónima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iwan Awizo to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Germano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernandez Montoto in the 43rd minute of play. After 45 minutes of play, Sociedad Anónima's Fernandez Montoto made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Germano was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

With a little luck, Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano got control of the ball when Fernandez Montoto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fernandez Montoto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adam Adamski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Berdoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandez Montoto came free, but Carlos Germano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
