With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Salmiyah Power's Arsenio Claus in the 29th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Julio Vera was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Ecuador through an amazing save. In the 30th minute Salmiyah Power were awarded a corner. Leonard Bărnuțiu went to the cornerflag to take it.
