The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Farid Mondragón stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ingvar Strand's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. In the 5th minute of the match Racing Club got a corner. MILAN COLOMBIANO's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ingvar Strand ran over to the corner to take the kick. Racing Club's Ingvar Strand was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Farid Mondragón in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 9 minutes MILAN COLOMBIANO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ingvar Strand who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Prudencio Donzel hit a great ball. When Racing Club's Ingvar Strand, in the 13th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Racing Club. After some careless play in the MILAN COLOMBIANO defense, Ingvar Strand kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Farid Mondragón. The MILAN COLOMBIANO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Farid Mondragón should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes into the game, Racing Club's Ingvar Strand nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Farid Mondragón made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 27th minute Ingvar Strand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farid Mondragón saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Racing Club's Juan Seme proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Racing Club from getting a goal against them. After 31 minutes of play, Racing Club's Ingvar Strand made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Farid Mondragón was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bernardo Balasi hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 36 minutes into the game, Ingvar Strand cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Farid Mondragón was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 39th minute Luciano Izco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Seme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Farid Mondragón showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingvar Strand, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luciano Izco to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Damaso Alvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Seme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th minute, Teodosio Steven hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, Racing Club's Ingvar Strand sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Farid Mondragón narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Enzo Fernandes succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 69th playminute. MILAN COLOMBIANO's Abel Mirande was substituted for Luciano Izco. MILAN COLOMBIANO made a substitution. Sergio Vito replaced Teodosio Steven. Adolfo Peio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Racing Club's Silvestre Egun was substituted for Prudencio Donzel. Farid Mondragón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvestre Egun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute, Adolfo Peio made a precise shot to the right of Juan Seme. Racing Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. In the 91st match minute, MILAN COLOMBIANO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Indar to maneuver through the defense. When Ingvar Strand came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Racing Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingvar Strand couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, MILAN COLOMBIANO's Farid Mondragón got control of the ball when Urbano Ramond tried to sneak it across the goal line. Farid Mondragón made an important save on a dangerous shot by Urbano Ramond in the 94th minute.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Racing Club walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
