The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Szatmári got free with Benito Sanz in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 18 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kálmán Mbappè. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute, Lajos Laczkó fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 23rd minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Sporting Savaria's Alex Szatmári tried to score from far away in the 24th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Robustiano Berart tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Heiki Uustal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lajos Laczkó in the 33rd minute of play. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lajos Laczkó showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 43 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sporting Savaria's Klas Collin got a free kick in the 46th minute. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Lajos Laczkó notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a Sporting Savaria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. In the 59th minute, one of Costa Rica:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Costa Rica. In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Sporting Savaria. Alex Szatmári stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Benito Sanz. 4-0. After 64 minutes of play, Sporting Savaria's Kálmán Mbappè made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Sporting Savaria booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kálmán Mbappè, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Kálmán Mbappè came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lajos Laczkó in the 78th minute of the match. After having played for 80 minutes, Eutropio Vera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Savaria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eutropio Vera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sporting Savaria's Kálmán Mbappè got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lajos Laczkó took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heiki Uustal in the 91st minute of play. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. After 97 minutes of play, Sporting Savaria's Heiki Uustal made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee ended the match the Sporting Savaria players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
