No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Nistor Sârban made the kick off in the second half. Australian Youth Academy's Keylor Navas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Australian Youth Academy from getting a goal against them. The Australian Youth Academy fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when Australian Youth Academy's Fletcher Baba looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a little luck, Australian Youth Academy's Keylor Navas got control of the ball when Lech Matela tried to sneak it across the goal line.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Rega Merida CF players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Australian Youth Academy.
