The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Rústicos Sport Club's Domingo Bilintx got a free kick in the 9th minute. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kuncho Pranchev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. A collision led to Rústicos Sport Club getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Eliseo Benitez hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Kuncho Pranchev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The audience was convinced that Aldo Bernebe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Rústicos Sport Club's Luciano Musko got a free kick in the 29th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sadettin Tanyıldız in the 36th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Sadettin Tanyıldız managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rústicos Sport Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Sadettin Tanyıldız was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 43rd minute of play forced Rústicos Sport Club's goalkeeper Kuncho Pranchev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Luciano Musko fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rústicos Sport Club's protests and gave Luciano Musko a yellow card for diving instead. After 44 played minutes Rústicos Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Luciano Musko. Kuncho Pranchev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th match minute, Rústicos Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Benitez to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aldo Bernebe to strike the kick off in the second half. Kuncho Pranchev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Kuncho Pranchev came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 86 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. The supporters of Rústicos Sport Club booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Mino came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rústicos Sport Club's goalkeeper Kuncho Pranchev, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 95th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. When Pastor Mino came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Rústicos Sport Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pastor Mino couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
