The corner led to Nevşehirspor's Ronaldo Messi getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Gianluca Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 10th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gianluca Buffon having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 16th minute of play forced Nevşehirspor's goalkeeper Gianluca Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Thiago Pliego successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 26 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baltasar Frasquito. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ragnar Åberg in the 30th minute of play. Guillermo Fontirroig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 33rd play minutes Baltasar Frasquito shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Thiago Pliego and just under the crossbar into goal. Gianluca Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 43rd minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baltasar Frasquito made a kick off. In the 59th minute Baltasar Frasquito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gianluca Buffon was a little too slow when Pedro Indiano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 1-2. Nevşehirspor made a substitution. Hami Tuğaltay replaced Bror Kent. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Gianluca Buffon made a huge save. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Proença, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After a rather tough play, Chile's Alan Tamayo got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 88th minute, Orlando Casaus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gianluca Buffon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. In the 91st minute of the match, Mariano Lacasa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gianluca Buffon was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 92nd minute, Ronaldo Messi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Rıdvan Kurushov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nevşehirspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Rıdvan Kurushov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Pliego breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
