Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Bray McJon started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 3 minutes of play, Montevideo's Bray McJon made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 5th minute. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Bray McJon took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bray McJon, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 16th minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Ronaldo Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ronaldo Medeiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 22nd minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Ronaldo Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Agustín Saelices almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros did a great save. Mário Maranhense hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After 43 minutes of play, Montevideo's Bray McJon made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldo Medeiros having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Montevideo getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Fernandão Recife hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bray McJon in the 54th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bray McJon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Ronaldo Medeiros when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ronaldo Medeiros stood somewhat misplaced when Daniel Zorita came free in front of goal and shot 3-3 to the left of him in the 69 minute. Ronaldo Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute of the match, Felix Montenegro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ronaldo Medeiros was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 74th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Montevideo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Montevideo's goalie and right to Juan Sebastián Puig. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Montevideo's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Bray McJon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Bray McJon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montevideo's supporters rose to their feet, but Bray McJon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Bray McJon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Bray McJon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
