Nofre Estany came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Alianza FC's Nofre Estany played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nofre Estany was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. In the 21st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nofre Estany saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nofre Estany showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 25th minute of play forced Alianza FC's goalkeeper Nofre Estany to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marin Ciprian's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 27thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Baran Gayret fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Nofre Estany stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baran Gayret in the 40th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baran Gayret. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marin Ciprian stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Ciprian came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute Alianza FC were awarded a corner. Reno Chavarria went to the cornerflag to take it. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Nofre Estany made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Alianza FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Alianza FC's Nofre Estany managed to reach the ball for a save. Nofre Estany made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 73rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Alianza FC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nofre Estany came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Domingues in the 80th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Aimar in the 91st minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
