To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Homero Thomson, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, TZILACATZIN could leave the field as winners, despite Paraguay having more of the ball for most of the match.
