In the 6th minute, Garcia Morros ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Ranolfo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 10th minute Judas Verón shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ranolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garcia Morros in the 12th minute of play forced Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Marcos Ranolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kraig Fred could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Bernardo Raggio made a huge save. When Kraig Fred came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Estudiantes de América fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kraig Fred couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute Garcia Morros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ranolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Ranolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Judas Verón in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half Belgrano de Pibasog were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kraig Fred made a kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 55 minutes into the game, when Justino Frederico put in a rough tackle. Belgrano de Pibasog's Timo Haydon was substituted for Garcia Morros. After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Belgrano de Pibasog! In the 59th minute there was a penalty for Estudiantes de América. Maximo Dei stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bernardo Raggio. 1-1. Maximo Dei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Raggio having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de América's goal looked a bit too open when Blue Dolar came free, but Marcos Ranolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Belgrano de Pibasog's Bernardo Raggio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Concetto Trasatti in the 68th minute of play. Bernardo Raggio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Cordarrel, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Belgrano de Pibasog's goal looked a bit too open when Concetto Trasatti came free, but Bernardo Raggio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 1-2 became the score in the 90th minute when Honorato Jerrold elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The Belgrano de Pibasog supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Belgrano de Pibasog would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
