After taking down the ball on Floresta Negra FC's corner Lokon Pøhl fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Samuel Santos quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to La Società Sport Osasco getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Boruc Rybak hit a great ball. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind La Società Sport Osasco's goalkeeper Samuel Santos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 15 minutes into the match, Andy Cole had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuel Santos. La Società Sport Osasco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andy Cole was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. La Società Sport Osasco's Samuel Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Cole in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute Andy Cole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 minutes La Società Sport Osasco's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lokon Pøhl who took care of the corner kick. Andy Cole might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Samuel Santos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andy Cole ran back to his position shaking his head. Samuel Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy Cole, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samuel Santos came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Floresta Negra FC's Andy Cole. But to his dismay, Andy Cole quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 33 minutes into the match, CJ Lewandowski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Egun Pais. Floresta Negra FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that CJ Lewandowski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Egun Pais was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and CJ Lewandowski capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. CJ Lewandowski really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. In the 45th minute, Clemente Moura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of La Società Sport Osasco booed when Floresta Negra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerzy Zjawin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and CJ Lewandowski made a kick off. A collision led to La Società Sport Osasco getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. In the 84th minute Jardel Lewandowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Egun Pais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilvan Maranhense in the 87th minute of play. La Società Sport Osasco's Samuel Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save La Società Sport Osasco from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in La Società Sport Osasco's zone, Jardel Lewandowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Santos came out of the goal and Jardel Lewandowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Demircan Nadi kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Boruc Rybak kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Neither La Società Sport Osasco or Floresta Negra FC succeeded in finding a winner during the second half. That meant the players faced another 30 minutes of extra-time.

The players didn't get much rest, but they still tried to pep each other up as they lined up for the first half in overtime. Floresta Negra FC's Jardel Lewandowski started the play with his kick off. Floresta Negra FC's attentive Alexsandro Mandrak managed to snatch the ball when João Andrade made a throw-in in the 101st minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Jardel Lewandowski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Samuel Santos was relentless in the 104th minute of the game.
