Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armağan Mukremin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Levent Erkinay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Levent Erkinay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Carballar hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mariano Lacasa to strike the kick off in the second half. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
