Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adriano Diaz to make the kick off. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Deilmison Yashin came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 56th minute. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deilmison Yashin having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kléberson Leal's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kléberson Leal helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th minute, Kléberson Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
