The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Malcom Vrignon hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Avel Vat's Danny Pasquier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Youri Djorkaeff in the 12th minute. If Guillaume Minier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 18th minute of play forced Avel Vat's goalkeeper Danny Pasquier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Danny Pasquier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Avel Vat getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Émilien Tessier hit a great ball. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Youri Djorkaeff tried to sneak it across the goal line. Danny Pasquier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 31st minute of the match. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Avel Vat's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 36th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danny Pasquier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Youri Djorkaeff fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Avel Vat's protests and gave Youri Djorkaeff a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th match minute, Avel Vat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Youri Djorkaeff to maneuver through the defense. Émilien Tessier kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. A collision led to Avel Vat getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Lilian Thuram hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Avel Vat's goalkeeper Danny Pasquier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Danny Pasquier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 60th minute of the match. Lilian Thuram kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danny Pasquier having to interfere. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Danny Pasquier. Avel Vat's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. With a little luck, Avel Vat's Danny Pasquier got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Malcom Vrignon kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Danny Pasquier made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Danny Pasquier in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Danny Pasquier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Danny Pasquier made a huge save. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. The Avel Vat fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
