Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelo Abreu in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maicon Pontes in the 11th minute. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Erubiel Justin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Abreu in the 17th minute of play. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Maicon Pontes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-0 in the 25 minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Maicon Pontes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maicon Pontes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's Meelis Vananurm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 34th minute of play. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Erubiel Justin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute Marcelo Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Erubiel Justin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 64th minute Erubiel Justin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erubiel Justin's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. After 75 minutes of play Venezuela's Jose Correa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 76th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Abreu in the 77th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's Marcelo Abreu. But to his dismay, Marcelo Abreu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Abreu in the 85th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelo Abreu might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcelo Abreu ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcelo Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lindi Mena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
