The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gez Winship took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adalberto Vianna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Memphis Grizzlies were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dave Fleming took the corner. In the 10th minute, João Vítor Alves had to leave the field with a concussion. It was a well-played corner which Karl-Heinz Rummenigge managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge's late challenge caught a Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge helped the player get up and apologised. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF made a substitution. Tiago Fontes replaced João Vítor Alves. In the 11th match minute, Memphis Grizzlies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute of the match, José Luis Cuciuffo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Charles Sarmento saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some careless play in the Rondinone F.C - FDFDF defense, Franky Van Der Elst kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Charles Sarmento. After a rather tough play, Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's Eliézer Leão got a free kick in the 26th minute. The long shot by Dave Fleming in the 27th minute really tested Charles Sarmento's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 28 minutes into the match, Memphis Grizzlies's goal looked a bit too open when Gil dos Santos came free, but Gez Winship reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rafinha Sergipano in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Memphis Grizzlies's goal looked a bit too open when Falcão Marques came free, but Gez Winship reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Heinz Rummenigge came free, but Charles Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gez Winship showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adalberto Vianna, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After a rather tough play, Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's Gil dos Santos got a free kick in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Falcão Marques made a kick off. When Chicão Matos fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's protests and gave Chicão Matos a yellow card for diving instead. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF made a substitution. Luís Eduardo Arce replaced Gil dos Santos. Memphis Grizzlies made a substitution. Franz Henry replaced José Luis Cuciuffo. After 68 played minutes Rondinone F.C - FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Chicão Matos. Gez Winship made an important save on a dangerous shot by Falcão Marques in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Eduardo Arce in the 83rd minute of play forced Memphis Grizzlies's goalkeeper Gez Winship to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
