Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Peru's Julian Murillo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind KaoS Futbol Club's goalkeeper Pierluigi Buffon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, KaoS Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Pierluigi Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierluigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute Igor Lebas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Eliseo Mina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luz Tejedor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Pierluigi Buffon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Hargrave in the 27th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. KaoS Futbol Club's Pierluigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 33rd minute of play. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Igor Lebas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of KaoS Futbol Club's Pierluigi Buffon. Pierluigi Buffon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Igor Lebas was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, KaoS Futbol Club's Pierluigi Buffon got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Peru were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after KaoS Futbol Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Luz Tejedor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pierluigi Buffon quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Tabb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute of the match Peru got a corner. KaoS Futbol Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 66th minute, Emmanuel Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. KaoS Futbol Club's Andres Baresi was substituted for León Ponzio. After a rather tough play, Peru's Emmanuel Reyes got a free kick in the 67th minute. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Lebas, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Pierluigi Buffon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 83rd minute. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Gallo in the 96th minute of play forced KaoS Futbol Club's goalkeeper Pierluigi Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Peru had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
