The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Xu Yi Lei. City Friseur Wuppertal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play forced City Friseur Wuppertal's goalkeeper Xu Yi Lei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when City Friseur Wuppertal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Ryback didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, City Friseur Wuppertal's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Xu Yi Lei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rdth minute of the game Albi Martínez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Avram Stegaru came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the City Friseur Wuppertal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Avram Stegaru couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

City Friseur Wuppertal's Nebi Tokyürek was substituted for Avram Stegaru. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Waldemar Ryback was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind City Friseur Wuppertal's goalkeeper Xu Yi Lei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Xu Yi Lei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute Waldemar Ryback shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, City Friseur Wuppertal's Hipolito Normando got a free kick in the 79th minute. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Nebi Tokyürek kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Xu Yi Lei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Waldemar Ryback kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nebi Tokyürek in the 95th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, City Friseur Wuppertal could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
