Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Vincent Tieleman kicked off to start the match. After 9 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute of the game Niek Huizen made a throw-in which Dirk-Jan Zwartkruis played forward. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Rondo's goalkeeper Andy Olfers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 22nd minute. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rondo! 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rondo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Venezuela's Tomas Illescas to fire away a dangerous shot which Andy Olfers despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Andy Olfers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 34th minute of play forced Rondo's goalkeeper Andy Olfers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 34 played minutes Rondo got a freekick which was hit by Niek Huizen. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy Olfers having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Tieleman, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Andy Olfers came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Andy Olfers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chris Sandstra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Rondo booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Andy Olfers made a huge save. In the 77th match minute, Rondo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niek Huizen to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andy Olfers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Venezuela eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
