After taking down the ball on Jenipapo SC's corner Arsenio Gipuzkoa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joaquin Gayoso quite easily take care of the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aníbal Alagoano. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aníbal Alagoano got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinicio Junior in the 32nd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aníbal Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jenipapo SC were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arsenio Gipuzkoa took the corner. Bruno Beldad hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Joaquin Gayoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aníbal Alagoano in the 40th minute. Aníbal Alagoano in the 46thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aníbal Alagoano's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. The Jenipapo SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Uruguay were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aníbal Alagoano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Vinicio Junior kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Jenipapo SC's Vinicio Junior. But to his dismay, Vinicio Junior quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Aníbal Alagoano struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jenipapo SC. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aníbal Alagoano's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Jorge Sainz charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jorge Sainz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Jenipapo SC booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aníbal Alagoano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Jenipapo SC's Zé Carlos Monteiro got a free kick in the 67th minute. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinicio Junior, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After 75 minutes of play, Jenipapo SC's Vinicio Junior made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! 78 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's Aníbal Alagoano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 79 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but David Seaman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raphael Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Junior in the 88th minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Camilo Franco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th match minute, Jenipapo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arsenio Gipuzkoa to maneuver through the defense.
